To concentrate the components of a liquid, the liquid to be treated is fed to a thermal circulation loop (42) of which the temperature level is the boiling temperature. In the thermal circulation loop there is arranged a steam separator (2) from which the separated steam is compressed (6) at a higher temperature level and fed to one or a plurality of other heat-exchangers (3, 4) wherein the heat energy which has been previously transferred is used partly to increase the temperature from the feed state to the temperature in the circulation loop, and partly for the evaporation of the liquid. The plant comprises a container for the liquid to be brought to boiling conditions, and which may be adjoined to the hot loop. In the steam separator, the liquid may be brought after heating and by means of a distribution device (15) to the steam chamber of which the output is connected on the steam side to one or a plurality of steam jet compressors (6). Those compressors are connected on the outlet side by a conduit and a heat-exchanger to a condensate discharger. The liquid traversing on the primary side the heat-exchanger may be heated under partial evaporation conditions to the boiling temperature and the concentrated liquid of the hot loop coming out from the steam separator through a conduit and a pump (7) may be totally or partly brought to the container for fluid concentrate.
