In such a system, comprising a number of slave stations, arranged distributed, with light signal transmitters or light signal transmitter groups with associated light signal control devices, the operating sequence of which can be controlled and synchronised via a central unit, the central unit is connected to the individual slave stations via signal transmission paths which are formed by a ring line which, starting from the central unit, extends through a first slave station and the following slave stations and the last slave station and then back to the central unit.
