Diisocyanates which are optionally isomer mixtures and are optionally present in admixture with minor quantities of the corresponding perhydrogenated diisocyanates and/or in admixture with minor quantities of the corresponding unhydrogenated aromatic diisocyanates and which have the formula see diagramm : EP0113043,P9,F1 in which R**1 and R**2 are identical or different in each case and denote hydrogen or (optionally branched) alkyl groups with 1 to 12 carbon atoms, with the proviso that at least one of the radicals R**1 and R**2 represents an alkyl radical and m and n in each case represent 0 or 1, with the proviso that the sum of m+n equals 1, and in the case where m or n=0 the remaining free valency is saturated by hydrogen.
