In the method for renewing hydrostatic or hydrodynamic sliding bearings during servicing work on machines having rotors, e.g. turbine rotors, the split bearing shells seated in split bearing rings are moulded at the bearings of the rotor shaft at the site where the machine is set up by means of a plastics composition stirred together with hardener.
