The invention relates to a shed-forming device in single-shed or wave-shed weaving, with healds combined in groups in heald frames, and with sinkers which can be coupled to the healds. In known shed-forming devices, the weave design is limited, except in symmetrical designs or design repeats. The movement of the healds into the bottom shed also cannot always be controlled correctly. This is avoided, according to the invention, in that the sinkers can be coupled indirectly to pendulously movable hooks via catches strung onto the lifting blades, in that each hook can be moved electromagnetically into a coupling position, and in that for each hook there is an independently activatable circuit which runs via the sinker assigned to the hook.
