The device is for adjusting or adapting the advance in a subdivided warping frame having a fixedly mounted cone. It consists of a cylinder or a warping roller which serves for winding the yarn of a section to a limited diameter, and arrangements for determining the thickness of the wound yarn and for fixing the data for the advance in the warping frame. The warping roller is mounted in front of the reed comb of the section, and it is capable of winding the yarn as quickly as the draw-on will take place.
