The servo signals (SC, SD), which are supplied by a magnetic disk of a disk storage unit and with the aid of which types of tracks, track locations (sectors) within a track and the position of the tracks on a disk can be established, are fed to an input circuit (ET). In it, the oscillations characterising the position of the tracks on the disk are suppressed. It emits an output signal when an oscillation characterising the type or track location of a track occurs. This output signal is fed to a pattern detection circuit (MU), which emits two output signals (NX), by which variously composed servo signals are indicated.
