PVC compsn. contains (a) 0.01-5 wt.% organic salt(s) of Ca, Ba, Zn, Mg and/or Ca and (b) organic cpds. of formula R1-CO-CHR2-CO-R3 (I), where R1 and R3 are 1-36C opt. branched alk(en)yl, 7-14C aralkyl, aryl or cycloaliphatic gp. of less than 14C, the latter gp. opt. contg. a C-C double bond. R1 and R3 may be substd. e.g. by halogen, and the aryl or cycloaliphatic gps. by Me or Et. These gps. may also be modified by the presence of -O-, -CO-O- and/or -CO- in the aliphatic chain, in which R1 and R3 may together by a sole divalent gp. of 2-5C and having a heteroatom viz O or N. R2 is a gp. -COO-R4 (where R4 is opt. substd. 1-36C alkyl), -COO-R5-OCO-CH(COR1)(COR3) where R1 and R3 are as above and R5 is opt. substd. 1-20C alkylene. The compsn. resist yellow when processed and gives prods. which are transparent, homogeneous, antiyellowing and resistant to exudation. It can be used for injection, extrusion, blow moulding, calandering, rotation moulding etc.
