Tobacco pouch is made in the form of a box from a laminate comprising a stiff core of paper etc. which is plastic coated internally and externally. The laminate is folded so that the edges overlap to form a longitudinal seam. The ends of a flap at the mouth of the pouch are covered with a strip of reinforcing material. Used for mfr. of pouches having permeabilities of 2.0-7.5 g/sq.m.24h to moisture; 2-3400 cc/sq.m.24h. atm. to O2; 6-10000 cc/sq.m.24h. atom to CO2 to confine the required aroma.
