Air inlet-outlet duct for air conditioner - uses divided inlet-outlet enclosure with sliding structure attached to faceplate to regulate air flow

The duct gives silent operation with little turbulence or local hot or cold spots in a ducted heating/cooling system. A rectangular metal housing has oval inlet and outlet ducts entering at the rear. The face plate has attached a shaped backing structure with an extension sliding between two guide plates forming a divider in the rectangular housing to separate incoming and out-going air. When the face plate structure is pushed towards the ducts all flow is blocked and when moved away from the ducts flow from the ducts to the room is allowed. The faceplate structure is shaped to reduce leakage from the pressurised duct and to give strong separation of the incoming and outgoing flows, providing smooth alterations of direction to reduce noise and turbulence.
