The switch connector comprises a housing (CH) having a female socket (PS1) to receive the plug (FSU) of the appts. Two screws with insulating heads (V1,V2) are provided in the housing to lock the plug pins in engagement in the socket. An input mains cable to the housing has an external plug (FS1) and two internal wires one of which (F2) connects directly with a socket terminal and the other through a microswitch (MR). The actuating lever (L) of the microswitch is located such that when a cover (COUV) of the housing is in position the microswitch is held open. The cover is locked in position by a key operated lock (SER).
