The portable bar-bender uses an electric pump (5,7) to drive a hydraulic ram (1), with a cranked handle-bar (8) and grappling head (2) with upper and lower pivotable cheeks (4,3) locating counter- rollers. The handle (8) and pump-housing (6) are both angularly adjustable relative to the jack (1). The handle serves as a stop, limiting cheek movement. The handle base (10) constitutes a housing-cover (6). The safety valve is adjustable from the exterior after removal of the rear foot (9), and the plug to the bleeder valve is permanently attached to the jack. Sets of four bolts to a square arrangement may secure the handle and housing to the pump (5), permitting the assembly (6,7,8) to be fixed in four alternative positions at 90 degree intervals.
