The appts. uses a tube which is moved vertically by an arm on a pillar assembly which also rotates to position the tube for extraction of samples or for rinsing. In the rinsing position the tube is positioned in a rinsing chamber with a protective envelope and an upper opening. A small diameter pipe passes through the chamber wall in a sealed manner and its end is directed onto the tube so that the rinsing liquid can be directed onto it at a controlled velocity until it is submerged. The liquid is evacuated by a lower opening. The rinsing operation is effected between two each sampling operaton. The rinsing jet follows a downward trajectory which follows, at least partially, the outer part of the tubular member.
