The solar collector consists of a rectangular collector (4) assembled precisely into a parabolic form and concentrating the radiation onto a water tube which is carried on the two supports (8,9) along the focal axis. The whole assembly can be rotated about the axis of a trunnion (10) to follow the path of the sun. The thin, polished aluminium or stainless steel reflectors (4) are supported on brackets (1) have a parabolic form. The brackets are in the form of a T with the reflectors located underneath the T piece. The edges of the reflectors (5) are tensioned by screws (11) in order to stretch the thin plates into the shape of the supports.
