Two disc domestic water tap with reduced water flow noise - uses two discs with cut=out segments which rotate relative to each other to regulate flow rate of water

The water tap is of the two disc type and is designed for low noise operation in the domestic environment. The two discs rotate relative to each other about a common axis to allow water flow when cut out segments in the two discs align with each other. Slots in the outer periphery of the upper disc mate with tongues on the operating shaft to provide mechanical coupling to the tap knob and a filter disc with pyramidal filters lies above the top disc. The water enters from below the lower disc and exits through the filters. The shape and positioning of the cut-out segments in both discs is carefully defined with the sides of the segments lying parallel to radial line on the discs and the segments offset to one side of the radial lines.
