Emulsion plant for heavy oil - esp. for mfg. homogeneous and stable emulsion of fuel oil and water which is fed to fuel burners

Pipe and valve are used to feed heavy oil continuously into a tank provided with a gas vent. The tank pref. also contains a serpentine coil, through which water flows without entering into contact with the oil. An electric float is pref. used to maintain a constant oil level in the tank, which pref. also has an electric resistance heater and thermostats keeping the oil and water at a constant temp. The water then flows through a filter, pump, valves and flowmeter to an emulsifier, which also receives the oil through similar equipment. The emulsified mixt. is pref. fed into a second heated tank kept at a constant temp. and used to feed the emulsion to a row of fuel burners. The combustion prods. obtd. by burning the emulsion include no residual liqs. and do not pollute the environment.
