The guard (9) is used on a rotating support (1) for harrowing tools, preventing the progressive wear of parts coming into friction contact with the soil. The support is centrally mounted on a driven rotary axle (A) and rigidly locates radial arms (3) with a perpendicular tool (6) fixed to their free ends. The guard comprising one or more pieces overlying the leading lateral end faces of an arm. The guard may have an 'L' shape or a 'U' shape, may be of hard-wearing plate, and may project below the bottom face of the arm. Fixing may be effected by nut (14) and bolt (23) and the guard may be welded to the head of the bolt (14) securing the tool.
