Thin wall plant pots made from thermoplastic film - featuring superficial annular ribs for enhanced radial stiffness

Plant pots of tapered form as used by nurserymen or horticulturalists are made from thin flexible thermoplastic film by overwrapping a suitable mandrel and applying a longitudinal weld, where the film is provided with longitudinal reinforcing ribs to provide annular stiffening of the pot, esp. near the mouth and base of the pot. Requires less expensive production equipment and can be made with thinner walls than pots made by injection moulding. Use of local reinforcement provides both greater radial stiffness and requires less matl. overall than pots made by thermoforming sheet of constant thickness, also results in more uniform wall thickness over the whole length of the pot.
