Electric cable gland for machine tool terminal boxes - uses two-part screw-assembly gland with sealing ring and deformable region bent onto cable sheath during tightening

The electric device is used to seal round and clamp the electric cable and is formed of two pieces which are assembled together to receive the cable. A toroidal ring sealing joint is forced against an internal truncated conic surface in one of the two parts. An internal cable locking ring having a deformable part is acted on by the truncated conic surface. The gland is constituted externally of two mating threaded sleeves, one female, the other male, both parts having hexagonal surfaces to allow gripping with spanners. After the cable has been passed through, the gland can be assembled and tightened to compress the seals and bend the deformable region onto the cable sheath.
