Wire connection system for PCB tracks - has screw terminal blocks with insulating housing to clamp wires to flexible metal tongues soldered tracks

The printed circuit board track connector enables external wires to be joined to the circuit without the need for soldering of the wire and without exerting stresses on the metal track. The upper section (1) of a two-half insulating housing has entry slots (6) for the wires and rectangular cavities (9) in which metal screw-terminal connecting blocks (10) are held. The lower section has locating and fixing pins (3) and support prongs to brace the housing against inter-track spaces on the underside of the board. The edge of the circuit board (14) has track terminating pads which are drilled with pairs of holes. Flexible pressed metal tongues (19) have pointed teeth (20,21) which pass through the holes and are soldered to the track pads. When assembled, the tongues stand upright covering the entry holes (11) of the terminal blocks. The wire is inserted with the block by first depressing the tongues with a screwdriver blade and the wire is then clamped by tightening the screws (12) of the block.
