The cable frame overcomes the inconvenience of having to assemble the wiring loom separately on an external framework. The frame system described has a pair of longitudinal C-shaped channel bars which are spanned by two movable lateral support members. Secondary longitudinal and lateral bars (14,16) can be fixed to the lateral members. The main longitudinal channels have a line of location holes and notches by means of which the lateral platforms can be positioned and fixed. The lateral platforms have flat top and front surfaces. A series of pillars, which can be either threaded or smooth, are positioned on the top platform. The pillars serve as anchor points for wiring runs or support bolts to fix secondary framework members. The secondary framework longitudinal members (11) are of folded rectangular section and have holes drilled at either end corresp. to the fixing pillars.
