A rectifier bridge has an insulating material body (1) with an electrical circuit to which groups of diodes (4, 5) are connected which are mounted on metal plates (6, 7). A suppression capacitor is connected between the DC connections of the rectifier bridge. The capacitor, together with a connecting piece (16) by which it is initially held, is embedded in a block (31) of insulating material. The connecting piece (16) has two connecting eyes (18, 19) for the electrical connection of the capacitor (30) as well as two attachment claws (22, 23). The attachment claws are used for mounting the block (31) on the body (1), said body having ribs (32, 33) for these attachment claws to engage behind.
