The present invention relates to a variable precompression device and its subject is an additional chamber 9 formed by a piston 10 moving in a cylinder, the chamber communicating with the crank case 8 of a heat engine operating on a 2-stroke cycle with intake and precompression of the fresh gases in the crank case. This additional chamber 9 makes it possible to vary the total volume of the case and thus the precompression pressure in the crank case, which directly influences the scavenging speed of the fresh gases through the transfer duct 14. The piston 10 is positioned in the cylinder forming an additional chamber hydraulically, mechanically or electronically. IMAGE
