The invention relates to a process according to which, during the operation of leaching of zinc sulphide ores, chemical zinc sulphide is added in order that the silver salts should preferably be bound to this zinc sulphide. The latter is then separated by flotation of the zinc-poor residue. In this way, the flotation froth is rich in silver, which can be easily recovered.
