The invention relates to a process and a device for heating a liquid bath 5, in which combustion gases circulate in a combustion chamber 4 possibly connected to at least one heat exchanger 6, the whole being immersed at least partially in said liquid bath, the gases being ejected finally into the atmosphere. According to the invention, the combustion gases, after having been ejected initially to the outside of said liquid bath 5, without coming into contact with the latter, are reintroduced into said liquid before being ejected finally into the atmosphere.
