PURPOSE:To enhance dimensional accuracy of a work processed, by furnishing a copying milling machine with a vibration damping mechanism and a liquid pressure cylinder functioning as a balance weight, and thereby controlling effectively transmission of noise to a tracer arm. CONSTITUTION:Because the tensile force in a hydraulic cylinder mechanism 6 is so adjusted as approx. balanced with the total weight of a tracer arm 3 and tracer head 4, the apparent weight of the head 4 fixed to the arm 3 becomes zero substantially to provide a well balanced measuring condition in terms of weight in which eventual deflection or deformation owing to the own weight of the arm 3 and head 4 does not influence the tracer 10. A slide guide 8 at the drum part of arm 3 on its body side constitutes a vibro-damping system in which vibrations of arm 3 and head 4 or vibration of the spindle head 2 derived from operation of the copying milling machine is absorbed through elastic deformation of a coned spring, whereby transmission of the noise to the tracer 10 is hindered to lead to enhancement of the dimensional accuracy of the work processed.
