METHOD FOR PREVENTING SPONTANEOUS IGNITION IN COAL TANK AND FOR EXTINGUSHING FIRE

PURPOSE:To improve safety, by constituting a coal takeout device in a closed coal storage possible to switch both directions of the take-out and take-back circulations freely over either side of taking out and in, while being made up so as to take measures for preventing oxidation acceleration and circulating sprinkled water when trouble is detected. CONSTITUTION:Usually a takeout device 5 is operated in the arrow A direction and thereby coal is taken out at the side of a quantitative feeder 6. When taking out is unnecessary, the takeout device 5 is periodically reversed in the arrow B direction, returning the stored coal in the coal tank 4 to a carrier 2, and again it is put back in the coal tank 4. And, during coal taking out and so on, if a trouble detector 10 finds something wrong, the takeout device 5 is then switched to operation in the B direction whereby a take-back circulation to carriers 2 and 3 takes place and water sprinkling is performed when necessary. Like this, in times of coal storing and trouble happening, it is put back to the carrying side and exposed open by means of circulations in order to prevent the generation of oxidation and heating, together with fire-fighting by water sprinkling, so that safety during coal storage is much improved.
