PURPOSE:To separate and to purify choline oxidase and betaine aldehyde dehydrogenase, by treating a solution containing both the enzymes with a specific adsorbent. CONSTITUTION:A solution containing choline oxidase and betaine aldehyde dehydrogenase is brought into contact with a formula CH3-(CH2)n-water-insoluble carrier bonded substance (n is an integer of 1-5) or a formula NH2-(CH2)m- water-insoluble carrier bonded substance (m is an integer of 2-8), which are obtained by bonding an alkylamine shown by the formula CH3-(CH2)n-NH2 (n is the same as above-mentioned) or alpha,omega-diaminoalkane shown by the formula NH2- (CH2)m-NH2 (m is the same as above-mentioned) to a water-insoluble carrier, e.g., agarose, dextran, etc. so that both the enzymes are adsorbed on the carrier bonded substance, which, is treated with a solution containing an electrolyte, e.g., salt, etc. with a proper concentration in pH 6-9, so that both the enzymes are eluted simultaneously or separately.
