METHOD FOR RECOVERING ALKALINE EARTH METAL CARBONATE AND GLASS-FORMING MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To prevent the contamination of impurities and obtain a recovered material readily usable as a raw material, by burning an aqueous solution containing an alkaline earth metal salt of an organic acid, etc., under given conditions, and reacting gaseous carbon dioxide generated therefrom with an alkaline earth metal. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution containing an alkaline earth metal salt of an organic acid and a glass-forming material is sprayed to give water droplets having 50-200mum particle diameter. The resultant spray is then burned in an oxidizing atmosphere at 650-900 deg.C temperature. Thus, the above- mentioned salt of the organic acid is decomposed, and the generated gaseous carbon dioxide is reacted with an alkaline earth metal at the same time.
