TREATMENT OF OUTER SURFACE OF COIL SHAPED PIPE BODY BEFORE AND AFTER ANNEALING

PURPOSE:To prevent oxidation discoloration of inner and outer surfaces of annealed pipe body made of Cu, by sealing upper and lower parts of annular part of coil shaped pipe body to replace air in the inner part by reducing gas, at taking out said body made of Cu from annealing furnace before charging it therein and after completing the annealing. CONSTITUTION:At annealing the coil shaped Cu pipe 1 formed from pipe body made of Cu, the body 1 is mounted on an annealing tray 2, and moved to a prescribed position where a limit switch 11 is operated. An upper cover 4 and a lower cover 6 connected to the cover 4 with a chain 8 are lowered by a cylinder 9, and opening hole part of inner diameter of the tray 2 is sealed with the cover 6 and a packing 7 attached thereto. Space between the cover 4 and the body 1 is sealed by a packing 5 provided thereunder, reducing gas is sent pressedly from a gas pipe 10 to replace air in gap between outer surfaces of the pipe 1 by reducing gas, and to charge these into annealing furnace. Thereby, oxidation and discoloration of Cu pipe during annealing are prevented.
