PURPOSE:To prevent the deficiency of heat when a heating layer with a temperature self-control function(PTC) characteristics is used and to improve the heat exchange rate of electric power by providing heating layers, electrodes, the 1st and the 2nd electric insulating layers, etc. CONSTITUTION:A heating layer 4 is a layer having lower resistance than the ceramic of an internal surface layer 7. Conductors 5A and 5B are printed alternately and successively inside the layer at almost constant intervals. Intervals of adjacent conductors 5A and 5B are constant and intervals of conductors 5A and intervals of conductors 5B are also constant. Therefore, the PTC ceramic between conductors generates heat uniformly in the lengthwise direction of a roller. Further, an insulating layer 49 is an insulating layer provided on the base of a metallic cylindrical roller 509 and the heating layer 4 of the PTC ceramic as its upper and its internal surface layer 7 are insulated electrically from the base body of a roller 50. Consequently, the insulating layer 49 improve the heat generation efficiency of the PTC ceramic of the upper layer.
