METHOD FOR CONTROLLING TEMPERATURE OF MOLTEN STEEL IN VACUUM REFINING FURNACE

PURPOSE:To correct the desired temp. of molten steel downward by estimating the extent of a change in the temp. of the molten steel in each of vacuum oxygen decarburization and vacuum decarburization periods and by increasing the rate of hitting of the temp. of the molten steel at the end of refining. CONSTITUTION:When steel is refined, the extent of a change in the temp. of molten steel in each of vacuum oxygen decarburization and vacuum decarburization periods is quantified as a function of operation conditions. The temp. of the molten steel at the end of refining is calculated by the quantified relational equation. When the estimated value is lower than the desired value, a temp. raising agent is added before refining is started.
