METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING SALT IN SEA SAND

PURPOSE:To treat and effectively utilize waste water containing salt generated by washing sea sand without generating secondary public nuisance, by filtering said waste water and desalting the same in an ion exchange tower before repeatedly using the same in the washing water of sea sand. CONSTITUTION:Sea sand 3 is washed with washing water sprinkled from the nozzles 5A of a water sprinkling header 5 on the way of transfer by belt conveyors 2, 4 to remove salt from said sand 3 while the washed sant is dropped on a drain conveyor 8 and discharged from the conveyor 8 while drained to be piled mountain-high at once place. Waste water after the washing of sea sand 3 is collected in a water collection tank 10 and guided to an ion exchange tower 12 by a water feed pump 15 while filtered in a filter tank 11 and the obtained pure water is returned to a water storage tank 1 from a water feed pipe 16 by a water feed pump 17. This pure water is repeatedly used in the washing of sea sand 3.
