PURPOSE:To improve a learning speed, by a method wherein, in a device which controls a fuel amount according to a fluctuation in a load of an engine in consideration of a learning value to be learnt so that the air-fuel ratio of air-fuel mixture forms a desired value, plural learning values depending on a load region are simultaneously learnt. CONSTITUTION:A first detecting means 4a which detects the load of an engine and a second detecting means 4b which detects a physical amount required for the code of a fuel feed amount are provided. Further, a discriminating means 5 which discriminates which of first-n-th load region a load detecting value belongs and a learning means 6 which learns a first - an n-th learning value according to a discriminating signal therefrom are provided, and according to a learning result and a physical amount detecting amount, a fuel feed amount is computed by a computing means 7 so that an air-fuel ratio is set to a desired value. In addition to the aboves, an auxiliary learning means 9 is provided for simultaneously learning the first - the n-th learning values in relation to a learning range common to the learning values, and based on the content of the simultaneous learning in the auxiliary learning means, learning of each of the first - the n-th learning value is effected in the learning means 6.
