PURPOSE:To enable to recover about 20% of escaping heat at an exhaust smoke tube by a structure wherein the heat absorber in the exhaust smoke tube and the heat exchanger in a hot water storage tank are connected with each other by means of a riser and a down comer, between both of which a heating radiator and a pump are provided. CONSTITUTION:In order to heat up the water in a hot water storage tank, a stove is fired under the conditions that cold water is filled in the hot water storage tank and by-pass valves 16 and 17 and water temperature regulating valves 22 and 23 are all open and a pump is in standstill. Consequently, the fresh water heated at a heat absorber ascends through a riser 13 and flows through the valve 16 into the tank. On the other hand, the cold water in the tank enters the valve 17 and descends through a down comer 14 so as to repeat the circulation thereafter in order to raise the temperature of the water in the hot water storage tank 6. When space heating is intended, the pump 20 is put into operation, resulting in lowering the temperature of a space heating circuit. On the contrary, the temperature of water for space heating rises in proportion to the throttling of the low temperature valve 23 on the down comer side a T piece 21 and the opening of its high temperature valve 22. Further, when the pump 20 is put into operation under the conditions that the high temperature valve 22 is closed, the low temperature valve 23 is open and the stove is stopped, the hot water in the hot water storage tank heats a heating radiator 19.
