PRODUCTION OF CORRUGATED CONICAL HORN FOR ANTENNA

PURPOSE:To obtain a corrugated conical horn for antenna which can be easily manufactured at a low cost and with high productivity, by forming a corrugation conversion part containing hollowed/projected grooves, a corrugation part and a circular waveguide part in a body with a thin metallic plate together with attachment of a reinforcement material. CONSTITUTION:A material obtained by processing a thin ductile metallic plate into a cone or cylinder shape is fixed by adhesion to a mold (split mold) processed into hollowed/projected grooves having the same form and same size as the inside surface of a corrugated horn for plastic molding in a body. For this plastic molding method, the accuracy of a product is decided by the degree of adhesion of a material to the mold and according to the ductility of the material and the plate thickness. That is, the better the ductility and the smaller the plate thickness the higher the accuracy of a product. Furthermore the weight of the product is reduced to eliminate the problems of transportation and installation. Then flanges 4 and 5 and then a reinforcement material 6 are attached to a product obtained in such a manufacturing process.
