TRANSMISSION LINE FAULT INFORMATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To quicken diagnostic and repairing processing by transmitting the content of a fault and identification information to a subsequent communication controller together with a signal for supervising a transmission line generated newly when a fault is detected from the said transmission line supervisory signal. CONSTITUTION:If no frame F arrives from a transmission line 4-1 or an error takes place in the frame, an FL CHK detection section 22 detects an error and its content is transmitted to an ERR ADD generating section 26. The gener ating section 26 generates the fault information ERR based on the content of fault and transmits it to a CHK generating section 24 together with communi cation controller identification information ADD identifying the own communica tion controller. The generating section 24 generates the frame F based on a frame synchronizing flag FL, fault information ERR and identification ADD from an FL generating section 27 and transmits the frame to a transmission line 4-2 reaching the subsequent communication controller. A supervisory device receiving the frame F identifies the faulty part and content of error as the result of analysis of the fault information ERR and the identification information ADD and executes immediately a prescribed diagnosis and repair processing.
