PURPOSE:To prevent cracking (exfoliation) due to hydrogen along the interface between the titled steel and overlaid stainless steel by adding prescribed percentages of C, Si, Mn, Ni, Cr, Mo, Ti, etc. CONSTITUTION:The titled steel consists of, by weight, 0.05-0.25% C, =0.5% Si, 0.3-1% Mn, =0.5% N, 1-3.5% Cr, 0.5-1.5% Mo, one or more among 0.01- 0.1 Ti, 0.01-0.1% Nb, 0.01-0.1% V and 0.01-0.1% Al, and the balance Fe. When a high temp. and pressure vessel is made of the steel and stainless steel is overlaid on the inside of the vessel so as to prevent corrosion, exfoliation due to hydrogen along the interface between the base metal and the overlaid steel is prevented.
