PURPOSE:To produce a narrow track magnetic head of a good dimension precision efficiently by using a specific jig for the matching join process of a pair of ferromagnetic substance blocks provided with plural narrow track process grooves. CONSTITUTION:Ferromagnetic substance blocks 5 and 6 where tracks 10, 11, etc., are formed are matched to each other with gap opposite faces 12 and 13 by cut grooves 8, 9, etc., and blocks are put on sheet 23 of compression jig 19 so that recording medium opposite faces may be upside, and blocks are pressed lightly from both sides through buffer material 22 by expanding materials 20 and 21 and are fixed temporarily (figures a and b). Next, compression jig 19 is mounted on track matching jig 26 consisting of straight-going micro meters 28 and 29 and frame mold jig 27 and is tightened lightly by torque meter 34, and after that, micro meters 28 and 29 are moved (consequently,blocks 5 and 6 are moved through magnets 32 and 33) to cause track parts 10, 11, etc., of blocks to agree with each other with a high precision while observing them by a microscope.
