PURPOSE:To eliminate the needs for repairing and coating of a shell-structure gate by a method in which a prefabricated steel hollow structure, a prefabricated roller, and custom-made sheave steel blocks are assembled on site, and the periphery of the steel hollow structure is covered with prestressed concrete on site. CONSTITUTION:A shell-structure gate consists of a pillow-shaped upper stage gate 1 and a lower stage gate 2, and rollers 3 are provided to both ends of the gate and vertically moved along a guide 5 of the gate strut 4. These gates 1 and 2 are connected with both ends of a prefabricated internal steel structure 9, and the rollers 3 and sheave steel blocks are connected through a joint 11 with a prefabricated internal steel structure 10. Reinforcing bars and a formwork are set on the periphery of the structures 9 and 10 of the gates 1 and 2, and a prestressed concrete 8 is then placed. A concrete-covered gate having higher strength and accuracy than the steel plate gates can be obtained without the needs for repairing and coating.
