TEST METHOD FOR SUITABILITY OF DRUG AS PREVENTIVE OR REMEDY FOR ACUTE MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION

PURPOSE:To carry out the titled test, by administering an animal with the drug to be tested and a calcium agent for calcium-setting, and then with a triggering agent, and examining the reaction in the myocardium of the animal. CONSTITUTION:An experimental animal (e.g. rabbit, dog, etc.) is administered with definite amounts of the drug to be tested and a calcium agent for calcium- setting (e.g. a solution containing calcium chloride as at least a component) for a definite time interval (e.g. 2-6% aqueous solution of calcium chloride is administered at a rate of 1.4-0.1ml/min for about 2-3hr according to the concentration). The animal is then administered with a triggering agent (e.g. a solution containing calcium chloride as at least a component, a solution containing caffeine as at least a component, etc.), and the reaction in the myocardium of the animal is examined to test the suitability of said drug as a preventive or remedy for acute myocardial infarction.
