PURPOSE:To take a hand print or foot prints without making hands or feet dirty, by a method wherein a pasty substance comprising an amino compound or an amino acid is applied to a hand or a foot, which is pressed against a paper or a cloth, the paper or the cloth being previously coated with a color former comprising ninhydrin as a main constituent, or the color former being subsequently applied. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution comprising ninhydrin as a main constituent is prepared as a color former, and is applied to a square piece of fancy paper, followed by drying. On the other hand, an amino compound or an amino acid is added to a pasty substance, followed by uniform mixing. When a hand or a foot with the pasty substance applied thereto is pressed against the square piece of fancy paper coated with the color former, the amino group and ninhydrin performs a color reaction to produce a hand print or a footprint dark purple in color. After taking the hand print or the foot print, the hand or the foot is washed by using a soap to remove the pasty substance.
