The vehicle windscreen wiper system has the wiper blade arm (108) connected to a main arm (102) of a spatial mechanism with one degree of freedom. The spatial mechanism comprises five bars and five joints, and a frame connected to the vehicle bodywork. The system also has a balance arm (101) which is connected by a pivot to the main arm (102) and driven in an alternating rotary motion. A second balance arm (103) is pivoted to a fixed element connected to the bodywork and to a secondary arm (104) pivoted to the main arm. - The joint between the main and secondary arms is in the form of a ball joint, while the pivot between the second balance arm (103) and the secondary arm has its axis at an oblique angle in relation to the pivot between the second balance arm and the bodywork.
