The stackable rectangular e.g. cardboard box comprises a bottom, sides and end walls. At least one wall has at least one upward projection aligned with an opening in the bottom, such that the projection engages the opening of the next higher box when stacked. - Each wall with projection(s) has an inwardly folded panel at its upper end, which is provided with an opening for each projection. Each projection may consist of pref. plastics tube and pref. rests on an internal support which may be formed by or comprise folded wall portions.
