A frame consists of two brackets (1,2), placed parallel to each other, and connected by a rod (3) telescopically adjustable in length and which can be placed over a patient. A rod (5), fixed on each bracket, which projects downwards and on which a tube (6) can be adjusted vertically. Secured to each tube (6) is a measuring sensor (9,10) for determining the rhythm and aplitude of the abdominal respiration and the costal respiration respectively. A further measuring element (14), to be gripped by the patient, determines the evolution of the heart rate, and output signals may be simultaneously displayed and/or recorded from all measuring elements on the same time basis. The flow rate of blood from the legs, arms or head may also be determined.
