To control braking effect on aircraft wheels, a dish shaped box frame with scoops is fitted around the aircraft wheel ring. Initial slip and drag e.g. during landing and or takeoff is reduced resetting in less tyre wear. The box construction fits alongside the aircraft wheel rims and forms an enclosing duct with incorporated scoop arrangement. The unit has lubricating nipples and a ball bearing arrangement.
