A machine (1) for applying liquid herbicide to weeds growing within a good crop. Machine (1) includes a machine frame (2) movable across earth containing the weeds, and a wiper blade (6) mounted on the machine frame (2) adapted to hold a quantity of herbicide to be applied to the weeds when wipe contacted thereby during movement of the machine frame (2). A herbicide supply assembly (18) is connectable to the wiper blade (6) to deliver the herbicide thereto. A supply control assembly (33) is also provided which is operable to control delivery of liquid herbicide by the supply assembly (18) to the wiper blade (6) so that the herbicide substantially continuously saturates the wiper blade (6) but does not drip from blade (6).
