Sepn. of bagasse from a guayule source with particles size 13mm or less by contacting to each pt., 1-20 (pref. 1-2.5) pts wt of a resin-rubber solvent system (A) contg. at least one solvent for extn. of rubber and resin. Then addn. of H2O, 50-400 (pref. 100-250) wt.% of particles, to this giving an aq. phase and miscella phase, thus sepg. bagasse from the latter phase (A). - Pref. (A) has at least one organic polar solvent (B) 10-35 (pref. 15-27) wt.% and at least one hydrocarbon solvent (C) 90-65 (pref. 85-73) wt.% (B)=3-8C ketone, 3-8C ester, 1-8C alcohol, 2-8C ether, or a mixt. (pref. MeOH, MEK, or Me2CO). (C)=4-9C alkane, 5-10C (alkyl)cyclo-alkane, 6-12C aryl or alkylaryl or a mixt. (pref. cyclohexane, hexane, or pentane) (A) is pref. 78.1 wt.% pentane, 21.9 wt.% Me2CO.
