The invention concerns a coupling, especially to facilitate the coupling of components which together create a column along which there is a movable boring tool. The coupling involves a male/female element presenting to each other interacting wedge surfaces (20, 21) which are moveable with respect to contact with each other primarily via the axial movement of the element relative to each other. The coupling involves a tool (37) which, by the dragging of the element forces the wedge surfaces into intimate contact with each other. A spring (29) is brought into the coupling which during the dragging of the coupling accumulates elastic force and thereafter tends to retain the contact between the element's wedge surfaces.IMAGE
