Programmed control for train movement - uses computer performing continuous comparison with reference speed or preset speed programme

The automatic train control uses a computeriseed system to continuously update the vehicle speed and position and compare it with a programmed route. The vehicle is started smoothly and stopped at the stations along the line. The system provides a versatile train control which takes into account the dynamic condition of the train as well as the track conditions. The actual speed is compared with the reference speed so that a correction signal is derived, while the acceleration and braking are adapted to the conditions.
